Immigration and Passports
General information
If you travel from El Dorado Airport to an international destination, or arrive in Colombia from another country, you must go through immigration control. This procedure is carried out by Migración Colombia, the authority responsible for verifying the entry and exit of travelers to and from the country.
For a smoother process, have your travel documents ready, such as a valid passport and, if applicable, a visa, residence permit, or authorization to travel with minors.
Automatic immigration control: Biomig
Biomig is the automatic immigration control system of Migración Colombia that allows you to enter or leave the country faster through biometric recognition (iris or facial), without going through the traditional control.
How to register?
Go to the Migración Colombia enrollment point at El Dorado, 2nd floor, module 68. Present your passport and register your biometrics. The service is subject to the availability of Migración Colombia officers.
Remember:
- It is free of charge and registration is done only once
- The minimum age to use it is 12 years
- Adult foreign nationals may use it only to leave the country
